Registration to volunteer for Plant Clinic at the OSU Extension Office. Members of the public can visit the office, call, or email for assistance identifying weed, disease, and insect problems, as well as receive research-based management suggestions for these issues. Community members can bring in plant or insect samples to assist with identification and diagnosis, or soil samples for free pH testing. Shannon (OSU’s Master Gardener Coordinator) and two to three Master Gardeners will be onsite to handle requests and get to the bottom of people’s horticultural problems.

All first-year trainees are heavily encouraged to sign up for at least one Plant Clinic shift to see what it’s all about. It is an amazing real-world learning experience! Intimidated? Don’t be! Shannon and at least one experienced Master Gardener will be there to help you. Nobody is expected to be an expert or have all the answers. We can take our time, do some research, and help the gardeners of Clatsop County thrive together.

Please contact Shannon with any questions, or let her know if you can’t make it to your scheduled shift for any reason:
