Emerald Ash Borer: A Looming Threat

  • October 12, 2022
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Emerald Ash Borer: A Looming Threat

Presenters: Dan Stark, Forestry and National Resources Extension Agent, and Christine Buhl, Ph.D., Forest Entomologist, Oregon Department of Forestry

Overview: The emerald ash borer (EAB) is an invasive, metallic wood-boring beetle that has been detected in Oregon for the first time, at the moment exclusively in Washington County. The presentation will cover how to identify the signs and symptoms of EAB, when and how to report a sighting, and the potential threat to our native Oregon ash. There will also be an overview of the impacts and consequences of invasive species, specifically in Oregon’s forests, with plenty of time for Q & A.
